Xmas Holidays

I hope you are all keeping busy and enjoying the break. I have made it to Auckland to spend Xmas with family. These are some of the things we saw on the way!

Christmas House

We had a taste of Christmas Magic today when we visited the Christmas House at 51 Broadhaven Ave. If you get time it's well worth a look with your families. We also had some free play in the big kids playground as a treat.Please don't tell :-)

Year 0/1 Christmas Concert

Room 5 rocks! What a great performance everyone! Thanks to all the Mums, Dads and Grandparents who cheered us on. Thanks to Diane for providing us with the footage :)

Fun Day Friday

It was all happening on Friday. We made kebabs to celebrate the letter k for morning tea. We had a scooter race at lunchtime and then the school disco at night! The paparazzi were there to record the events!

Growing Sunflowers

This week we are going to plant sunflower seeds as a growing project over the holidays! Please can you bring a small yoghurt container or similar to school on Monday.

Christmas Child

Thanks so much for your kind donations to our Christmas Child. We were able to send them some lego, twistable crayons, pens, a pencil case, stickers,a rubber and some soap.We talked about how giving is as much fun as receiving!

Operation Christmas Child

Letter and sound basketball

Here is a fun game to play over the weekend. Hasn't the first week of the holidays gone fast? Play letter basketball! Set up a trash basket on one side of the room and stand several feet away with your child. Write letters on paper, hold them upside down and let your child chose one. After they identify the letter, they can crumple it up and take a shot.

Try this in the holidays!

I hope you are all enjoying your break and making the most of this great weather. I spent most of today in my garden, very relaxing. For those of you wanting to practice your basic words over the holidays, try writing them on post it notes and put them on your bedroom ceiling and spot them with a torch before you go to bed. They are all in the back of your reading notebook.Have fun!

House Assembly

We will be having a House Assembly on Thursday so the children are able to wear their house colour t-shirts if they want to on that day. They are available from the office if you don't already have one. Check with me if your child forgets their house colour.
